Connie Ruth Haw's Obituary
Connie R. Haw, "retired Michigan State Trooper" passed away at her home in Lakeview on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was born in Wyandotte, MI on June 20, 1957, to Raymond and Ruth (Laurell) Eggers. Connie was raised in Belleville, where she graduated with the Class of 1975 from Belleville Public Schools, and later attended the State Police Academy. She proudly served as a Michigan State Trooper for 16 years before a medical retirement in 2003. Connie married the love of her life, George Haw, on August 27, 1988, in Davidson, MI. She enjoyed making porcelain dolls, painting, farming, gardening, canning, playing video games, and being a Girl Scout leader. Connie loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, spending time with her family and her dogs. She will be remembered for her strong spirit and the impact she left on our community.Connie is survived by her husband, George Haw of Lakeview; daughters, Gwendelyn (David) Velting of Gowen, Gretchen (Timothy) Chaffin of Edmore, Anastasia (Yukiharu) Miyashige of Lakeview; grandchildren, Brandon Velting, Elizabeth Velting, Hayden Helmer, Alyssa Helmer, Madelyn Chaffin; mother, Ruth Eggers of Belleville; siblings, Linda (Victor) Hogan of Belleville, Debra Koroch of Benton Harbor, Raymond (Cathy) Eggers of Brooksville, FL, Allen (Stephanie) Eggers of Winter Garden, FL; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a son, George Jr.; grandson, Andrew Haw in 2002; and her father, Raymond Eggers.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Reverend Ken Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Cato Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, at the chapel.
