Connie Sue May's Obituary
Connie Sue (Miller) May, age 76, passed away at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. Connie was born on August 15, 1946, the daughter of Edward Robert Hoos and Elnora Kantner Hoos. Connie was legally adopted by Everett Lee Miller and was raised in Lakeview and Sylvester. She graduated from Lakeview High School Class of 1964. On June 20, 1964, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Connie married John Wesley May, the love of her life for 58 years. Together, they raised five children. Connie enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, canning. She baked the best pies, especially rhubarb. She was a faithful member of the Crossroads Worship Center. Connie was a Chaplin for 17 years with Forgotten Man Ministries, serving Mecosta County Jail.Connie will be missed by her husband, John May of Blanchard; sons, John (Mary) May of Stanwood, Wesley May of Blanchard, and David May of North Dakota; daughter, Jennie (Jeff) Mackenzie of Lakeview; grandchildren, John Lyon, Caitlyn Brown, John Clyde, Zac Cason, Emily Cason, Amy May, and Summer May; great-grandchildren, Iris Green and Arthur Green.She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Hoos and Everett (Elnora) Miller; brothers, Wendell Miller and Gordon Hoos; and daughter, April May (George) Brown.The family will accept friends on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, and on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Crossroads Worship Center in Howard City. A funeral for Connie will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am with Pastor Jim Smith officiating. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service. Contributions in Connie's memory can be made to Crossroads Worship Center.
