Obituary
Mt. Pleasant- Coty Allen Kent, age 24, formerly of Sheridan, passed away on October 6, 2018. He was born to Lesia Griffith and step-father Bill on January 6, 1994 in Carson City. He was raised in Sheridan where he attended Central Montcalm High School. He was a welder, electrician, CNC press operator and worked on vehicles. He had a knack for numbers that all started when his step father showed him how to use a tape measure. He was employed by Ventra in Ionia and worked with his Uncle Greg at Finishing Technologies. Coty enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in Mackinaw, Crystal Raceway, sand dunes, playing pool, and bowling. His family was everything to him and loved spending time with them. He was a funny kid with a great sense of humor, you could never be in a bad mood around him.
Coty will be missed by his daughters Brynlee and Braelyn Kent; His parents Bill and Lesia Griffith; the mother of his children Shelby Wood; brothers Brett and Evan Daniels; step brother Stephen Griffith Jr.; step sisters Aubrey Griffith and Jessica Palmer; Uncle Greg (Dannyl) Kent; Aunt Carrie (Brett) Maloley; cousins Taylor, Danielle, Ethan, Jordan, Jaimie, Tyler, Autumn, Cheyenne and Lillie; and several aunts and uncles. He is preceded by his grandma Sharon M. Kent and grandpa Clyde Kent Jr.
Funeral services for Coty will be Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan following the service. A luncheon will follow the interment at the VFW Hall in Sheridan. Memorial contributions may be made to Lesia Griffith.
