In Loving Memory - Dale E. Olson - Paris, MI
Dale Edward Olson, 72, of Paris, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born on October 30, 1951, in Big Rapids, Dale was the beloved son of Vernon and Edna (Fortin) Olson.
On July 23, 1988, Dale married his soulmate and best friend, Vicki Mehl. Their love story was one of profound connection and enduring companionship. Dale’s life was rich with the joys of the outdoors, farming, and landscaping. He found great pleasure in hunting and working on projects with his son, Brad. His adventurous spirit took he and Vicki to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Mexico, places he cherished.
Dale was known for his great sense of humor, loving nature, and his infectious smile. He had a gift for making people feel welcome with his warm hugs and kind-hearted demeanor. Always willing to lend a hand, Dale’s generosity touched many lives.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Vicki; his loving children, Bridget and Brad Olson; his sister, Marsha Brown; his sisters-in-law, Judy Johnson; Towna (Roger) Aris, Nancy (Rex) Wiseman; special friends, Gene and Steph Heintzelman, Danny, Alan, and Randi Hatchew, Deb Wilkinson, Phyllis Cousineau, and Jen Cline; and many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Bob and Jerry.
A special thank you to Marsha and Brad for being the backbone of the family during Dale’s battle with cancer.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be held from 1-6 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Clear Lake Golf Course, in Big Rapids, where family and friends can gather to honor his memory and share their stories. Memorial Contributions in his name may be made to the Cancer & Hematology Center in Big Rapids. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
