Just learning that Danny passed away. I'm so sad for his family. We had a few things in common including our connection to the LaPaugh family, attending CMU and working together at The Daily News in Greenville. Then with his work with the BB BS and mine with the Greenville Area Community Foundation. It was fun to see him again and catch up. Sending sympathies.

Dan and I spent a lot of time together when I first joined the BBBS board. I remember sitting with him at various venues trying to sell raffle tickets for BBBS and he always had a new story to tell. These stories normally revolved around Karen, his kids, and/or his love of live music. Dan always made an effort to form a personal connection with every person he came in contact with. He was a special man. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with him, he will be missed.

I will greatly miss Dan! His gentle ways and genuine care and commitment to Hope House, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and his colleagues and clients at Eight-cap was special! His willingness to dance with us to Thriller with daughter Kara for Arts United spoke to his love for a good cause. He loved his family and friends and his smile and ability to connect with each of us will be dearly missed!

He was always playing his guitar and singing, and when him and Jim would get going, it was a jam session, we all loved it and always brought us out of the melancholy of some days of the hard work we do. Amazing man! We were the 4 musketeers (Sami, Florence, him and I). I will never forget how he always told me how I was a good fit for this job, but what he didn't realize he will be irreplaceable as a friend and co-worker. Will truly miss you.
Dan and I have been working together at the 8cap office in Alma. I was so happy when they hired Dan. His great reputation proceeded him. Dan and I would go for walks to together during our morning breaks. We became fast friends. When I decided to try and start learning how to play the guitar, Dan was there to help me start my musical journey. Dan helped me select a good starter guitar and then later we went to Saginaw to get a better instrument. Dan shared all kinds of playing tips and advice.
I did not know Dan long, but there are just some people that you connect with. I consider Dan a dear friend and am definitely missing him each day. But I am thankful for the brief time we were friends. I will never forget him. Each time I look at my guitar that he helped select for me, I will always remember him and the comradery we shared as the only two guys on our team. Dan and I had a lot in common. I am mourning his passing and our future friendship and shared love of music that will never be. But I am thankful Dan called me his friend for the brief time I knew him.
I know I will see you on the other side my brother.
