Darlene Kay Bunker's Obituary
Lakeview-Darlene Bunker, age 76, passed away at her home in Mecosta on August 12, 2023. Darlene was born in Hastings, Michigan on December 18, 1946, the daughter of Edna and Lester Risch. Darlene lived and spent her early years in Leslie, before moving to Webberville, where she attended high school, graduating in 1965. She then continued her education at Lansing Community College, before being employed as a librarian for 20 years by Mason Public Schools. Darlene married her husband, Lawrence Bunker on March 25, 1967, in the Webberville Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers (daisies were her favorite), and reading. Darlene attended the Sylvester Community Church. Darlene was a giver and was always happy to help out whenever needed. Darlene will be missed by her husband, Lawrence; children, Brian Bunker of Holt, MI, and Brent (Jami) Bunker of Monona, WI. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Violet, Sam, Mackenzie, Shane, Brayden, and Taylor (Josh); her great-grandchildren, Hadley and Brooks; brother-in-law, Bob (Carol) Bunker of Aiken, SC; sister-in-law, Judy Ream of Grand Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Edna Risch. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Sylvester Community Church in Mecosta with Pastor Simon Endacott and Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Family will be greeting guests at 11:00 AM until time of service. The interment will occur after the service at Hinton Township Cemetery. The family asks that any contributions made in Darlene's honor go to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Foundation.
