Darlene Mae Dahn's Obituary
Darlene Mae (Turner) Dahn, age 70, of Frostproof Fla, went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 17th, 2020, surrounded by her children at Woodland Hospice House of Mt. Pleasant Michigan.
She was born January 26th, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Carroll and Arlene (Greenman)Turner.
She Married William A. Dahn September 12th, 1968. They settled in Six Lakes, Michigan for 33 years raising their three children Annette, Laura, and William Jr on their farm.
Darlene worked at the Nursery with her father and took care of the farm until retirement, she then moved to Florida residing in Frostproof for twenty years. She enjoyed living in Frostproof and found great comfort with the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof, The congregation was her second family, She was a very active member, Volunteering for the Church Community activities like helping the homeless with meals and decorating the church for the holidays, she was the Churches official Easter bunny.
Darlene also enjoyed her yearly trips to Chicago, Illinois to spend time with her sister Coral and brother in-law Dan, then off to Michigan to spend time with her brother Aaron and sister in-law Suzette. While there she always made it a point to have a barbeque for all the family to gather around her.
Darlene loved animals, especially dogs, she would take them for walks, while growing up she loved the cows on the farm, her pet cow was named Susie and she rode her all around the farm.
Darlene loved Elvis Presley music and beach sunsets; she made her sister Iris drive her to the beach just to see the sunsets.
Darlene loved her neighbors in Frostproof, they meant the world to her. Our family wants to say how grateful and thankful for all the care and love that was given to her when we could not be there. Thank you.
She is proceeded in Death by Her Beloved husband William A. Dahn, parents Carroll and Arlene Turner, a brother Craig D. Turner, and a nephew Justin.
She is survived by her children Annette Whipple, Laura and (Jeremy) Hallock, William and (Juanita) Dahn, Her sisters Coral and (Dan) Murray, Iris and (Guy) Kilpatrick, Her brother Aaron and (Suzette) Turner, 12 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, and Several Nieces and Nephews.
A special Thank You to the staff at Woodland Hospice House and Gratiot Medical Center for the comfort and amazing care that was provided, not only to Darlene but to her family.
A memorial service will be held later.
