Darlene Dora Howard's Obituary
Darlene Dora (Karcher) Howard, age 90, of Remus, fondly known as “The Strawberry Lady”, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thurs. Feb 10, 2022 at her home. Darlene was born July 10, 1931, daughter of Glen and Dora (Priest) Karcher. She graduated from Remus High School and then married Harold Howard on July 21, 1949. Together they raised 6 children on their farm, east of Remus.
In addition to her parents and husband of 59 years, Harold Howard, she is also preceded in death by her baby daughter Susan, son Terry (Suzette) and grandson, Craig Howard.
Left to cherish her memory, is Dar (Linda) Howard, Julie (Denny) Nelson, Rick (Jackie)Howard, MariKay (Lynn) Smith and Joan(Wayne) Stickler; 18 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, sisters and brothers, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, who will not forget knowing her, nor the things they learned from this remarkable woman.
Darlene, a woman of faith, was a member of the Sylvester Community Church and was an organist and pianist at several churches during her life. Along with enjoying music, she took great joy in having homemade pies for the grandkids at Christmas, and filling the cookie jar with her famous cookies.
She enjoyed travel, family camp & campfires, music, and having her family close by; and hosting ‘Howard Forum’ on Saturday mornings, where the entire family gathered to cure the world’s problems!
The family will greet friends on Monday eve, 5-8 PM at the Sylvester Church and an hour before the Celebration of Life Service on Tues, Feb 15, 2022 at 11AM.
