Darlene Lucille Schalk's Obituary
Big Rapids- Darlene Lucille Schalk, age 83, of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011. She was born in Muskegon on April 11, 1928, the daughter of Oscar and Lilly (Young) Curtiss. Darlene is survived by her cousin, Beverly (Henry) Ridderman of Newaygo and two nieces; Janna (Henry) Berthoff of Houston, TX, and Sharon (Dennis) Hall of Alpena. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2001, and one brother, James Curtiss. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the Bell Tower room at St. Peters Lutheran Church, with David Truog officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Interment will be in Newaygo Cemetery.
