Darryl Lynn Leathers' Obituary
Darryl Lynn Leathers, born on August 12, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, to Warren and Katherine Leathers, passed away on March 31, 2024. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather.
Darryl obtained his bachelor's degree and pursued a successful career as a system analyst for La-Z-Boy Furniture. On August 14, 1959, he married the love of his life Judith Davis and built a life they loved. In 1997, Darryl and Judith relocated to Canadian Lakes, where he found a close-knit community and formed lasting friendships. Throughout his life, Darryl found joy in various hobbies, including golfing, poker, reading, and visiting the casino. He had a passion for spending time at home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was known for his dry sense of humor and stubborn personality. Darryl also enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years. He was a sports enthusiast, especially cheering for Michigan State University and the Detroit Lions.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Neal Leathers, Steve Leathers, Sara (Shawn) Sremba, his grandchildren, Keith, Kat, and Leah (Justin), as well as one great grandson on the way. Darryl is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 61 years, Judith Leathers, and his brother Dennis.
A memorial service to honor Darryl’s life will be held at Janowicz Family Funeral Home on April 5th at 12PM, with Pastor Randy Piatt officiating. Family will greet friends a half an hour prior to the service. Darryl’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
