David Loyal Blanshan's Obituary
Edmore-David Loyal Blanshan, age 72, of Vestaburg passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 27, 1949, to Loyal and Louise (Schumacher) Blanshan. He was raised in the Vestaburg area where he attended Vestaburg Community Schools, graduating in 1967. David was proud of his military service where he served in the Navy enlisting in 1967 until his discharge in 1971. He was employed at GTE, Version, Frontier as an install repair technician for 30 years, retiring in 2001. David married the love of his life, Darlene Jo Burns on April 15, 1972, at the St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church in Edmore. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and just anything outdoors.
David will be missed by his wife Darlene of Edmore; children, John (Jennifer) Blanshan of Huntsville, Alabama, Darrell (Amy) Blanshan of Belding; grandchildren, Faith Blanshan, Andrew Blanshan, Anna Blanshan, Matthew Blanshan; brothers and sisters, Dennis Blanshan of Vestaburg, Nancy Blanshan of Rosebush, Diana (Paul) Hoffman of Alma, Darwin "Dar" (Angie) Blanshan of Mt. Pleasant, Danny Blanshan of Mt. Pleasant.
He is preceded in death by both his parents; sister, Viola Laclair.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00am on Monday, November 22, 2021, at
Victory Christian Center

Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858
With Pastor Dar Blanshan officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the time of service with a luncheon to follow in the hall.
