Dawn LaRae Godfrey's Obituary
Edmore-Dawn LaRae (Hilliman) Godfrey, age 68, of Riverdale passed away, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born in Owosso on August 9, 1952, the daughter of Victor and Bethel (Albring) Hilliman. She was raised in the Owosso area where she attended school. Dawn married Charles "Chuck" Godfrey on August 29, 1970 in Brant, MI.
Dawn was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to many. She loved to travel and had many adventures. Dawn lived an exciting life. Chuck and Dawn spent many years in the Ashley area. She was an avid outdoors woman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. They raised many animals in their younger years; several bears, raccoon, fox and wolves to name a few. She was a loving grandma who spent lots of time with her grandchildren. Dawn lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Harrison surrounded by her family & friends. She will be missed by many.
Dawn is survived by her daughters, Jodie (Gary) Mastaw, Victoria "Vicky" (Tom) Godfrey; grandchildren, Brett Godfrey, Christopher Tinson, Ethan Tinson, Victor Cross III, Nicholas Cross, Bethany Tinson, Gage Godfrey, Wyatt Cross, Chole Godfrey, Calista Godfrey, Canyon Godfrey; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Victor Hilliman and aunt Jo-Ann; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles; son, Chuckie Godfrey; grandsons, Owen and Xander Cross; and her parents.
A celebration of Dawn's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the M-46 Tabernacle in Vestaburg with Pastors Dan Skirvin and David Lyons officiating.
