Dean L. Ensing's Obituary
Big Rapids - Dean L. Ensing, 55, of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born May 3, 1960, in Big Rapids, the son of Gilbert and Evelyn (Doyle) Ensing, and lived here his entire life. For many years, Dean proudly worked for Michigan Northern Railroad Company until ill health forced his retirement. Dean was an avid fisherman and hunter, and could sniff out morel mushrooms like nobody else. He is survived by his mother Evelyn of Quartzlite, AZ; a sister Karen (Glen McGorman) Van Syckle of Big Rapids; 3 brothers, Terry (Kathy French) Ensing, and Donald (Carolyn Murphy) Ensing, of Big Rapids, and Randy Ensing of Kalkaska; and many nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his father Gilbert in 2010. A memorial gathering for Dean will be from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions in his name may be made for Spectrum Health Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
