Dean Kelley Weeks' Obituary
Big Rapids Dean Kelley Weeks, 44, of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009, at his residence in Green Township. He was born September 30, 1964, in Big Rapids, the son of Dean R. and Margaret (Westrick) Weeks, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1982. In 1983, Dean earned his degree from Nashville Auto Diesel College. Upon returning to Big Rapids, Dean worked as a mechanic for several area businesses. In 2000, he purchased East Town Automotive in Big Rapids, which he had continued to operate. Dean was a member of the Aerie Eagles Lodge #2535, and the AmVets Post #1941, both in Big Rapids. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, motorcycling and snowmobiling, and was a member of the American Motorcycle Association and the National Rifle Association. On March 23, 1996, he married Ann (Ignash), who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Dakota Weeks and Brandon (Kacey) Ignash, both of Big Rapids; a grandson Landon Ignash; his parents Dean and Margaret; a sister DeMar (Kevin) Hatchew of Big Rapids; 2 step brothers, Hunter Helms, and Ben (Beth) Helms; father-in-law Jim Ignash of Evart; mother-in-law Artha (Buddy) Helms of Tennessee; sister-in-law Jennifer (Phil) Pressotto of Tennessee; his niece and godchild Raychelle Hatchew; niece and nephew Catie and Phillip Pressotto; and his many special friends and loyal customers. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2009, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Robert Routley officiating. Deans family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 4, from 2-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for the Mecosta County Medical Center Home Health Care Program may be left in the care of the funeral home.
