Debbie Kaye Conard's Obituary
Big Rapids - Debbie Kaye Conard, 66, of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, following her battle with cancer.
She was born October 31, 1953, in Big Rapids, the daughter of Alex "Pud" and Tillie (Otto) Conard, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1971. Deb worked at the Harvest Table Restaurant for several years, and then began working for Szot's Nickel Bell Bar in 1981. For many years, Deb was the People's Choice for favorite area bartender, and when you thought of Szot's, you thought of Deb. She was also an avid bowler, dating back to Wednesday nights at Big Rapids Bowl.
Debbie is survived by her siblings, Teri (Larry) Kelsh of Chippewa Lake, Joe Conard of Parrish, FL, Jeff (Julie) Conard of Grand Blanc, and Tony (Kim) Conard of Lowell; her brother-in-law Tom Everin of Howard City; her aunts Kaye Hassen and Karolyn Otto; and many nieces and nephews. Deb was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Tami Everin.
Due to public health concerns, a Celebration of Deb's Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
