Deloris Darlene Underhill's Obituary
Deloris Darlene Underhill, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. She was born on November 09, 1939 in Germfask in Schoolcraft County. She was proceeded in death by her husband, William Underhill, two daughters, Caroline and Loretta Underhill, her father, Levi Sanders, mother Edna Sanders, 2 brothers, 5 sisters and 2 stepsons and 1 nephew.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Underhill (Marty Foster) of Coral; stepson, Leon Underhill; Stepdaughter, Juanita (Pete) McNamara of Barryton; Daughter-in-law, Debbie Carter of Blanchard; 11 grandchildren, David Johnston of Mecosta, Rachel (Kevin) Stevens of Morley, Leon (Amber) Underhill of Blanchard, Chris Underhill of Blanchard, Robert (Tonya) Underhill of Edmore, Rebecca (Frank) Compagneri of Honor, Melissa (Randy) Gomber of Mecosta, Melinda (Tom) Shortsle of Stanwood, Christina Frayer of Ashton, Peter Paul (Nicole)McNamara of Barryton, and Jill (Scott) Becker of Okemos; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Deloris loved spending time with her family. She had a love for canning, yard saling, doing puzzles, playing Yahtzee, her favorite past times included Cash-word lottery tickets, writing songs, singing, writing poems, and reading books. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She also spent many years working on local farms, and in the woods with her husband. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus at 11 AM, with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, and on Sunday from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Burial will take place in Altona Cemetery in Lakeview.
