Denise Ann Knapp's Obituary
Lakeview - Denise Ann (Lemon) Knapp, age 65, of Howard City passed away at her home on Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born in Pontiac on December 6, 1957, the daughter of Russell and Myrna (Barnard) Lemon. Denise was raised in Pontiac. She continued her education at Montcalm Community College, where she earned her LPN Certificate. Denise was employed as a traveling nurse, at area hospitals and by Metron of Big Rapids for over 36 years before retiring from the nursing profession. On April 10, 1976, she married her best friend, Bruce E. Knapp at Bethel Lutheran Church in Howard City. Denise had a love of music and singing which she passed down to her children. She enjoyed reading, photography, genealogy, writing, gardening, quilting, tractor rides, talking to cows, cooking and baking. Denise loved helping people, spending time with her family and her grandchildren.Denise will forever be missed and is survived by her sons, Jason (Linda) Knapp of Howard City, Joshua "Josh"(Nina Orman) Knapp of Wayland, Chris (Chasity) Knapp of Big Rapids; best friend, Bruce Knapp of Howard City; grandchildren, Kody, Kory (Cecilia), Kameron (Matilda), Kaleb, Jenna, Grace, Christopher Jr., Joshua, Elisabeth, Meadow, and Gideon Knapp, Alyssa Trumbull; great-granddaughter, Bella Olmstead; brothers, Alan (Peggy) Lemon of Alabama, Jim (Kennetta) Lemon of Indiana, Issac (Cecilia) Lemon of Alabama; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Myrna; and 2 brothers, Dennis and Randy Lemon.A celebration of Denise's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service.Those wishing to donate in Denise's memory are asked to consider Spectrum Health Hospice.
