Donald Floyd Bush's Obituary
Donald Floyd Bush passed away in his home on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the grand old age of 83.
The youngest of 8, Don was born on August 18, 1938 to Floyd and Muriel (Shaw) Bush. Don, who could make friends with anyone who crossed his path, fell in love with farming at a young age after serving his country as a member of the Army National Guard and Reserve. His true life’s passion, Don spent his entire working career lovingly dedicated to the land.
On April 17, 1959, Don married Vivian Allen after getting engaged on Valentine’s Day that same year. Quickly smitten, their short engagement led to a long and happy marriage, she tending the home and kitchen, he out in the fields and milking barns. The farm workers enjoyed Vivian’s cooking, especially Don who enjoyed a good meal and never wasted a thing. While they never had any children, they were a loving Aunt and Uncle to a great many nieces and nephews.
Following Don’s retirement, his wealth of farming knowledge was well known and many farmers would come to him for advice. His strong work ethic never allowed himself to get stale even after he slowed down in his elder years, staying on top of the scene by watching farming shows on TV as well as keeping up with cattle auctions.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 7 older siblings. Left to carry on his memory are his beloved Vivian as well as their numerous nieces and nephews.
This patient, gentle man will be celebrated Tuesday, March 1st, at 11:00 am, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, MI with Clayton Irani officiating. Visitation will take place Monday evening from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
