Donald Eugene Hansen's Obituary
Edmore - Donald Eugene Hansen was born on April 17, 1937 in Blanchard, MI, to Maxwell and Dorthy Hansen. He passed away on March 16, 2017 at Spectrum-United Memorial Hospital in Greenville, MI. He was married to Janet Andersen on June 29, 1957 at the Trufant Saint Thomas Lutheran Church in Trufant, MI. Soon after, Donald accepted the sacrifice made for us by Jesus, and attended the Day Bethal Baptist Church. He was baptized in Derby Lake by Reverend Vernon Johnson, and presently attends The Church of God in Edmore MI. He worked at Hitachi as a machine repairman for 38 years and retired in 1994. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Donald was athletic in high school, his nickname for football was Bone Crusher Hansen and excelled in all sports and continued sports post high school.
Donald is survived by his wife Janet Hansen, his 3 children, Lori (Randy) Brinks, Michael (Amber) Hansen, and Craig (Jennifer) Hansen; 1 brother, Terry Hansen, 3 grandchildren, Brianna (Caleb) Spierenburg, Bailey Kellicut, and Megan Hansen, 3 great-grandchildren, Riley, Eden, and Ella Spierenburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maxwell and Dorthy (Drier) Hansen Howes, and his sister Yvonne Jourden.
Services will be held at the First Church of God in Edmore, MI on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore MI on Saturday March 18th, 2017 6-8 PM. Memorial Contributions can be made out to the First Church of God.
