Donald Bruce Highway's Obituary
Age 82, of Canadian Lakes passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
Services will be held Saturday, December 7th at 11:00 AM at Hansen – Janowicz Funeral Home in Remus. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, December 6th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Montague.
Donald was born on August 21, 1931 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Clarence S. and Frances M. (Carman) Highway.
Donald loved fishing and hunting but most of all, spending time with his boys. He enjoyed serving the Lord and his church. Words that describe him were honest, sincere, thoughtful and hardworking. He was an Elder with the Grand Rapids Bible Students and worked for Spartan Stores in Grand Rapids, retiring from there in1996.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jan (Herrscher); his three sons, Brian (Debbie), Darryl (Linda) and Kevin (Donna); grandchildren, Donald, Scott (Kina), Cory and Abby; great-grandchildren, Aubreanna and Charlie; one sister, Donna Mae (Don) and one brother, Clare (Naomi).
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Eldoreen Barnes.
