Donald Alvin Husted's Obituary
Donald Alvin Husted, age 78, of Cadillac, passed away at Maple Ridge Assisted Living in Cadillac on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. He was born in Sheridan on October 3, 1942, the son of Donald and Aletha (Shinabarger) Husted. Donald was raised in the Belding area, where he attended high school afterwards, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Don was employed at Gibson for many years and owned a hobby shop for 20 years building airplanes, cars, and boats from scratch. He married the love of his life Faith Strack on April 14, 1989, in Ithaca. Don liked to build (REMOTE CONTROL) airplanes, cars, boats and helicopters. He enjoyed teaching people how to fly the model airplanes and helicopters, which controlling the helicopters was the most difficult. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting deer and small game, but most importantly he loved being with his family. He will forever be missed.
Don is survived by his wife of 32 years, Faith; daughter, Jeannie (William) Bailey; grandchildren, Robert Husted, Felicia Husted, Nicholas Bailey, Rian Goldnor, Isaac Goldnor, Shanandria Bailey, Tarissa Bailey; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Ann Carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Aletha; grandson, Allen Bailey; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and J.W. Carroll.
A funeral service for Don will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan. The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
