Donald Kinsey's Obituary
Lakeview - Donald Frederic Kinsey, age 84, of Lakeview, MI passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Meijer Heart Center in Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Donald was born January 21, 1932 in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of Donald Dorus and Neva Rosetta (Lister) Kinsey. He was raised in Mt. Pleasant, MI and attended Mt. Pleasant area Schools. Donald graduated from high school in 1950.
Donald served his country honorably in the Air force from 1952 until 1955. He was stationed in England as a Tail Gunner flying the Cold War Line. During his time there he met his wife, Margaret Anne Kemp and they were married on January 22, 1955 in Norwich England.
Upon returning home, he attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering in 1960. He was employed by Xerox in Rochester, New York until retiring in 1989. They made Lakeview their home in 1991.
Donald was very witty, and had an amazing sense of humor. He collected antique tractors and fly wheel engines which he enjoyed restoring. He currently was restoring a Model T 21. Donald loved a good party and both he and his wife were very happy for 61 years.
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife Margaret Kinsey of Lakeview; four children Mark Kinsey of Oxford, Alabama, Timothy (Debbie) Kinsey of West Virginia, Mary (John) Sherman of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, and Jennifer (Larry) Anderson of Otto, North Carolina; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters Gleadis Harcourt of Canadian Lakes, and Susie Kaat of Belding; and his beloved dog, Daisy; many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Neva Kinsey; and one newborn son.
A Celebration of Donald's Life will take place at Sylvester Community Church on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Those wishing to contribute in Donald's memory are asked to consider Meijer Heart Center or the Sylvester Community Church.
