Donald Joseph Klassa's Obituary
Donald J. Klassa, age 84, peacefully passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Woodland Hospice. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 41 years, Dolores; brother, Ronald and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Julia (Butka) Klassa; brothers, Gerald and Ralph and sister, Delphine.
Don had a great passion for the outdoors, he could always be found doing some sort of yard work just so he could be outside. Needless to say, he and Dolores always had a yard that was kept “just so”. Aside from the outdoors, Don also loved woodworking and traveling with his wife. During their 41 years together, the two traveled to places all over the world including Hawaii, Europe, Alaska, Spain, and Greece. Don proudly served his country as a young pilot for the Navy and was still very proud of that accomplishment to this day. He will be best remember by the kindness he showed to everyone he met.
A funeral mass in Don’s honor will be held Monday, October 20th, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus, at 11:00AM. Family will be at the church to greet friends and relatives Monday from 9:30AM to the time of service at 11:00AM. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
