Donald Eugene Palmer's Obituary
Donald Eugene Palmer, 73, of Lakeview, Michigan, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born on May 29, 1952, to Donald Eugene Palmer Sr. and Dorothy May Holcomb Chamberlin, Donald lived a life deeply rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, and family.
An automotive painter by trade and at heart, Donald’s passion for classic cars defined much of his life. What began in childhood with building model cars grew into a lifelong love—one that guided both his career and his favorite pastime. He spent many years restoring and painting classics, collecting Hot Wheels, and staying immersed in the automotive world. Donald also worked for about a decade at Parts Plus in Edmore, where his knowledge and humor made him a familiar face to countless customers.
Donald was an artist in many forms. He enjoyed blues, jazz, and music of all kinds, and he found peace in painting. One of his proudest creations was a Harley-Davidson painting he completed for a Harley shop in Austin, Texas—an artwork that may still hang there today as a testament to his talent. He graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Known for his humor and sharp sarcasm, Donald loved spending time with his family and brought laughter wherever he went.
He is survived by his brothers Robert Hannah, David Hyslop, and Ronald Palmer; his sister Linda Lewis - Firat; nephew David (Peggy) Raines; nieces Deanna Walters and Desiree (Chris) Burns; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis Aldrich and his brothers Ronald Jones and David Jones, and nephew Michael Raines.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, no services are planned currently.
