Donald Gerard Herbert Eugene Smith II's Obituary
age 25, of Six Lakes, MI, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 13, 2015. Donald was born February 28, 1989 on K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn, Michigan, the son of Donald G. and Renee Gill Smith.
Donald was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado for eight years, Misawa Air Base in Japan for four years, and in Warrensburg, Missouri. He graduated from Warrensburg High School in 2007. Upon graduation, Donald attended Mid-Michigan Community College where he completed his Welding Certification. He was employed by Baxter Manufacturing in St. Louis, Michigan.
Donald loved paint ball, golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Donald will be deeply missed by his parents, Donald G. Smith of Six Lakes and Renee Smith of Olathe, Kansas; one brother Hunter James Smith of Olathe; grandmother Yvonne "Bunny" Cunningham of Six Lakes; the love of his life, Jodi Mata of Grand Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by two grandfathers Barney Jack Cunningham, and Donald Gerard Smith; and grandmother Cloia K. Smith.
A celebration of Donald's life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Six Lakes, Michigan with Pastor Dale Murray officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 - 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. All are invited to attend a luncheon following the service at the VFW Hall in Six Lakes.
