Donald L. VanAlstine's Obituary
Paris - Donald L. VanAlstine, 88, of Paris, passed away Sunday, September 16,2018, at Spectrum Health Supportive Care in Grand Rapids.
He was born September 18, 1929, in Grant Center, the son of Bud and Mary (Thumser) VanAlstine, and graduated from Big Rapids High School. Donald then served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, he returned to the area, and worked at Wolverine World Wide for many years until retiring.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife Crystal (nee Bronson) in 1974. Surviving are his daughter Debra (Fred) Gravelyn; brother Elmer (Maxine) VanAlstine; sister Helen Brown; brother-in-law Roger Dalstra; and several step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bert, Lyle, and Raymond, and sisters Lois Dalstra and Margie Lake.
A Celebration of Life for Donald will be from 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Grant Center United Methodist Church.
