Donna "Arlene" Dixon's Obituary
Big Rapids -- Donna "Arlene" Dixon, 79, of Big Rapids went home to be with the Lord. Arlene, as she was known to so many, passed suddenly at her home in Big Rapids. She was born to Margaret and Alvin Iverson 12-2-1935 on the family farm in Antelope, MT. After graduation she moved to California to attend nursing school. It was in California that she met and married Robert Dixon. They were married for 18 years and had 5 children together. After they divorced she moved back to Plentywood to raise her children with the help of her parents and worked primarily as a dispatcher for the Sheridan County Sherriff's Office. After all her kids were grown she moved to Billings where she worked as a Home Health Provider. When a back injury forced her to retire she spent the next several years living between her children. When her parents needed assistance she moved to Williston, ND where she lived and cared for them until their passing. She then moved back to Billings to be close to her children. In 2001 after a car accident she moved to Big Rapids where she resided until her passing. While in Big Rapids she enjoyed sharing her smile and big heart with everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed playing Bingo and the pot-lucks and the general get togethers at the Nisbett Building where she lived. Arlene is proceeded in death by her parents, Margaret and Alvin Iverson of Plentywood, MT; brothers, Carl (Jeanine) Iverson of Nebraska, Gerald (Norma) Iverson of Billing; sister, Peggy (Todd) Wirtz of Outlook; daughter, Susan (Pat) Costello of Billings and Great-Grandson Aaron Dixon of Dickinson, ND and Great nephew Dallas Wirtz of Outlook, MT. Arlene is survived by her children Jeannie (Steve) Bartnes of Westby, MT, Debra (Joe) Kerr of Hamilton, MT, Carl (Wendy) Dixon of Enid, OK and Robin (Robb) Young of Big Rapids. Arlene will be greatly missed by her four surviving children, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
