Donna Downs' Obituary
Reed City - Donna J. Downs, 88, of Reed City, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at her daughter and son-in-law's residence. She was born September 10, 1929, in Muskegon, the daughter of William and Inez (Hamilton) Cober, and lived most of her life in the Reed City area. For 30 years, Donna worked at Evart Products until retiring. Donna was a longtime active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Reed City, and also helped maintain and clean the church for 8 years. She enjoyed time with her family, playing dice, and listening to Johnny Cash. Donna is survived by 3 children, Randy (Eileen) Downs of Buford, GA, Sharon (Steve) Knapp of Reed City, and Julie (Jeff) Holt of Laconia, NH; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Knapp of Reed City, and Ryan Holt of NH; 2 great-granddaughters, Jordyn and Nelayna Knapp; 2 sisters, Cheryl Cober of Cadillac, and Bonnie (Arnold) Castle of Chiefton, FL; brother, Arthur (Helen) Cober of Mattawan and several nieces and nephews; including her special niece, Linda Kruszynski and good friend, Carole Miles. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Jason Knapp, and 7 brothers and sisters. Per her request cremation has taken place, with a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 22275 Four Mile Road, Reed City, MI 49677. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
