Donna Marie Kinney's Obituary
Lakeview-Donna Marie Kinney, age 78, of Trufant passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Phelps, Wisconsin on March 4, 1946, to Donald and Rosemarie (Hamilton) Pierce. Donna was raised in the Morley area, graduating from Morley Stanwood Schools with the Class of 1964. She continued her education at Davenport College in Grand Rapids, earning her secretarial certificate. Donna married Joseph Kinney in Morley on September 3, 1967. She was employed at the Meijer Corporate offices and by Gantos clothing stores in Grand Rapids before retiring in 1995. Donna was a member of the Heritage United Methodist Church in Pierson. She enjoyed gardening, reading and making desserts. Donna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who also loved her pets, especially her "junkyard dog", Pal and newest rescue Jax who stood guard over her during the months she was becoming ill.Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Joseph of Trufant; children, David (Karen) Kinney of Harbor Beach, Dana (Charles) Lowe of Greenville; granddaughter, Hannah Kinney (Brendan) bonus grandsons Lee Jensen (Diane), Ben Jensen (Autumn) brother Tracy Conley, and special family friend Cassiopia Rice.She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Pierce and Rosemarie Hamilton-Pierce -Conley, as well as grandparents who raised her Garry (Laura) Pierce.A celebration of Joe and Donna's lives will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Heritage United Methodist Church in Pierson with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating. The family will greet guests from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery later in the Spring.In lieu of flowers please consider making contributions to The Montcalm County Animal Shelter or Heritage UMC Pastor's Discretionary fund that goes to help those in need.Donna also wishes everyone to consider becoming an organ donor and let their families know. An organ donor made it possible for her to live another 16 years and see her children and grandchildren reach great milestones in their lives.
