Donna Belle Knapp's Obituary
White Cloud - Donna B. Knapp, age 77, of Norwich Township, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at her residence.She was born August 10, 1939, in Stanwood, the daughter of Melburn and Dora (Leiter) Boerma, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1957. On June 15 of that same year, Donna married Kenneth E. Knapp, and they lived in Paris until moving to Norwich Township in 1971.Donna was a member of the Fellowship Christian Reformed Church in Big Rapids, and was a charter member of the White Cloud Eagles Auxiliary #4170, which started in 1987. Donna was known for her collection of frogs and beautiful smile. Her husband Ken preceded Donna in death on October 16, 2015. She is survived by four children, Carole (Edward) Peacock of Shepherd, Nancy (Kurt) Ensing of Wyoming, Roger (Karen) Knapp of Paris, and Ron (Connie) Knapp of Bristol, VA; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (Joyce) Boerma of Rodney; one sister, Hilda (Ernie) Spedowski of Big Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. Donna was also preceded in death by her parents, two great-grandchildren, one son-in-law, two brothers, one sister, and three brothers-in-law.Funeral services for Donna will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 407 Perry Avenue in Big Rapids, with Pastor Ken Krause officiating. Burial will follow in the Hungerford Cemetery in Norwich Township. Donna's family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., today (Wednesday, November 9) at the Mohnke Funeral Home, with an Eagles Auxiliary #4170 memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her name for the rebuilding of the Michigan Eagles Family Recreation Center, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
