Doris Ella Swartz's Obituary
Age 87 of Big Rapids, passed away at Spectrum Health-Big Rapids, February 6, 2014. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 11:00am, at Hansen Janowicz Funeral Home in Remus. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10:30am to the time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor Randy Piatt will officiate.
Doris was born December 9, 1926, the daughter of William and Nora Lyons (Moore). She was a great athlete in her younger days, participating in swimming and Softball. She was a loyal person who loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite times of year was always the family reunion held on memorial day weekend.
Doris was known for her wonderful cooking, great sense of humor, courageous attitude, and being feisty from time to time.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Peter Swartz Jr. (Sharon), and Kathy Lutz; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Sadly, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter Swartz; three daughters, Patricia Dziewior, Brenda Smith, and Andrea Frank, and sister, Dorothy Wahl.
