Dorothy Marie Burgett's Obituary
Lakeview - Dorothy Marie (Arrand) Burgett, age 81, of Blanchard (formerly of Owosso), passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant. Dorothy was born on December 21, 1941, in Owosso, the daughter of Roy and Mabel Arrand. She was raised in Owosso, Ann Arbor, and West Branch before moving to Morley and Blanchard in 2008. Dorothy married Erwin Johnson in 1970, in Lakeview, until he passed away in 1999. Dorothy then married Joe Burgett in 2003, in Detroit, until his passing in 2008. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, word search puzzles, and enjoyed watching people. She was a member of the Pine Chapel in Blanchard.Dorothy is survived in death by three children, Janet (Lanny) Newman of Blanchard, David (Kim) Johnson of Lakeview, and Cheryl (David) Ethington of Ohio; step-son Don (Nancy) Johnson of Blanchard; five grandchildren, Susan (Mike) Cornell, Pamela (Noah) Tarrant, Tracy (Nathan) Wing, Katie Johnson, Mary Ethington; several great-grandchildren, Kylie, Gaven, Emmitt, Liam; one special great-grandchild Kylie, whom she never forgot, who used to do her hair and nails; siblings, Marilyn (David) Dallas of Coronna, Millie Perkins of North Carolina, Gordon (Ida) Whitcome of Owosso, and Earl Whitcome of Owosso; one sister-in-law, Luann Whitcome; one brother-in-law Jessie Garcia; and several nieces and nephews.Dorothy was preceded in death by husbands, Erwin Johnson and Joe Burgett; parents, Roy and Mabel Arrand; three children, Mary Barnes, Jim (Mary) Ulinder, and John Ulinder; one daughter-in-law Peggy Johnson; grandson, Skyler;great-grandchild Reece; and siblings, Ronnie Whitcome, Dennis Whitcome, and Thelma Garcia.Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Morton Twp. Cemetery in Mecosta, Michigan with Pastor Tom Ulrich officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made payable to Janet Newman.
