Dorothy J. Cody's Obituary
Dorothy J. Cody, age 84, of Canadian Lakes, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Grand Rapids. A funeral mass will be held Monday, April 21st, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Remus, at 11:00am. Visitation will also be at the church on Monday from 10:00am to the time of service. Fr. Aaron Ferris will officiate with burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Dorothy was born June 18, 1929, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Henry and Marguerite Robinson. She enjoyed camping, crafts, genealogy, traveling, spending time with her family, and cooking. She was known for making beautiful pine Christmas trees and teaching piano from her home for about 30 years.
Big-hearted, devoted, loving, and giving were all words used to describe Dorothy.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael; children, Patrick (Carol) Cody and Nancy Trotter; sisters, Betty and Mary Lou; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Sadly, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy; son Dennis, and daughter Kathryn who died in infancy.
