Dorothy Lydia Dubridge's Obituary
Lakeview-Dorothy Lydia Dubridge, age 88, of Altona passed away on October 30, 2024, at Mission Point in Big Rapids. She was born on September 3, 1936, to John and Dorothy (Stine) Sherman. Dorothy was raised in Altona until the family moved to the Grand Rapids area. She was a 1953 graduate of Kelloggsville Public Schools. Dorothy married the love of her life, Lynn Alan Dubridge, on April 24, 1954, in Grand Rapids. She was employed by Nicholas Plastics in Allendale for 20 years before retiring in 2002. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, traveling, going on cruises, camping and fishing. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Remus. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who loved her family and lived life to its fullest. Dorothy will forever be missed and is survived by her children, Luanne (Gary) Brown of Kentwood, Dianne Dubridge of Detroit, John Dubridge of Altona; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1great-great-grandchild; siblings, Keith Sherman of Altona, Cheryl (Dale) Ringler of Altona, Rosie (Denny) Stickney of Grandville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lynn in 2014; daughter, Roxanne Ward; granddaughter, Tarul Ward; parents, John and Dorothy; and sister, Gerry Staffen. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, with Reverend Rick Dubridge officiating.
