Dottie J Wood's Obituary
Dottie Jean (Palmer) Wood, age 88, of Lakeview passed away peacefully on May 19, 2019 at Spectrum Health Kelsey Rehab Center, surrounded by her family. Dottie was born in Lansing on August 6, 1930, the daughter of Louis and Lillian (Palmer) Palmer. She was raised in the Lansing area and graduated from Lansing Everett High School with the class of 1948. On May 7, 1949 Dottie married Glenn Edison Wood. She enjoyed crocheting, bird watching, flower gardening, cooking and baking cakes. She loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren and making special cakes for them. Dottie worked as a cook and baker at The Family Country kitchen in Langston, for Hi-Q Manufacturing in Lakeview, Double D Plastics and even owned and managed her own restaurant the "Crystal Chandelier".
Dottie is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sons, Greg Wood and Rodney (Cindy) Wood; daughter, Sharon Rama; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 34 years, Glen E. Wood; her daughter, Glenda Russell; granddaughter, Julie Rama; great-grandson, Conner Schultz; and two brothers, Duane Palmer and Don Moore.
Services for Dottie will be held at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Lakeview at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 23, 2019. The family will greet friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Funeral Chapel. Interment at the Wambold Cemetery in Remus will follow the service.
