Douglas W. Crandall's Obituary
Big Rapids Douglas W. Crandall, Age 84, of Big Rapids, formerly of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Metron of Big Rapids. He was born October 25, 1924 in Marshall, Michigan, the son of Verne and Bernie (Sinkback) Crandall. Douglas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Justine (Marple) Crandall, one daughter, Lisa L. Crandall and one granddaughter Crystal S. Baker, all of Big Rapids. He was preceeded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Vern Jr. (Buster) Crandall and Harry L. Crandall. Following graduation from high school Douglas completed an apprenticeship and worked as a Journeyman Electrician at Ford River Rouge Plant in Dearborn,MI. until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the UAW, was a life member of Allen Park Key Lodge 580 Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. No local services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by the Mohnke Funeral Home, Big Rapids.
