Douglas Arthur Wandel's Obituary
Lakeview-Douglas Arthur Wandel, age 82, of Lakeview passed away at his home on Tuesday December 17, 2024. He was born on July 14, 1942, the son of John and Claudine Wandel. He attended Lakeview Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1961. Douglas was employed with the Frigidaire Corporation until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting and also enjoyed working on engines as well as farming and working on various projects at home. He loved watching sports and classic movies as well as his kids and grandchildren's sporting events.Douglas will forever be remembered and is survived by his wife, Rosa Wandel of Lakeview; 3 children, Sonia Marie Hockstra of Lakeview, Annette Norton of Lakeview, Richard J Wandel of Crystal, Michigan; his siblings, Valanna Anderson of Portland, Michigan, Lillian Byron of Lazella, Georgia, Betty Rouse of Jacksonville, Florida, Dennis Wandel of Alma, Michigan and Duane Wandel of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 9 grandchildren, Justin Norton of Six Lakes, Michigan, Samantha Parsons of Saline, Michigan, Kendra Norton of Kansas City, Kansas, Brandon Hockstra of Stanton, Michigan, Britney Hockstra of Lakeview, Michigan, Devon Larkin of Breckenridge, Michigan, Jonathan Wandel of Crystal, Michigan, Vanessa R. Wandel of Nashville, Tennessee, Alexander VanWeelde of Sparta, Michigan; and 4 great-grandchildren, Liliana Larkin, Aria Larkin, Emelia Larkin and Lydia Rose Wandel.He was proceeded in death by his parents John and Claudine Wandel.
No service will be held at this time as per his wishes, a celebration of life gathering will be held with family at a later date.
