Duane R. "John" Hanna's Obituary
Big Rapids - Duane Ralph "John" Hanna, of Stanwood, passed away on his 87th birthday at Mecosta County Medical Center. He was born on November 21, 1924 in New Castle, PA. Prior to retiring, John worked as a contractor. He was a WWII Veteran and had been a P.O.W. in Germany. John was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Cluster. He is survived by his wife Marian R. June-Hanna, one sister Doris (Patrick) Costa, one brother Donald C. Hanna, special step-grandson John Timmons, plus two nieces and two nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew. A memorial service is planned for a later date in Battle Creek with burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
