Edmore - Edd L. Marston Jr. age 95, of Blanchard, Michigan passed away on April 14, 2018, in Alma.
Edd was born at home on the family farm in Blanchard, Michigan on February 17, 1923, the youngest child of Edd and Bertha (Fellows) Marston. Edd grew up on that family farm and attended school in Blanchard. He worked for a time in Detroit until enlisting in the U. S. Marine Corp in 1943. Edd served in the Pacific during WWII as part of the "mopping up" campaign on Guam and the battle of Iwo Jima.
He was discharged from the military in 1946 and upon returning to Michigan met and then married Vivian Crawford of Edmore on June 14, 1947. Edd and Vivian continued to farm the family homestead in Blanchard and Edd worked at General Electric, later Hitachi of Edmore, retiring in 1985. Edd is remembered as outgoing and friendly, with a love of hunting, fishing, and good times - good stories shared with friends and family.
Edd is survived by his wife Vivian, of 70 years and his three children and their spouses, David (June) Marston of Blanchard, Robert (Patricia) Marston of Sheridan, and Lori (Denny) Goddeyne of Bay City. Also surviving are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Andrea (Chris) Hallead with great-granddaughter Samantha, Ryan (Jessica) Marston with great-granddaughters Lucy and Vivian, Jennifer Marston, and Nathaniel Marston.
Edd was preceded in death by his parents, his three siblings, and their spouses.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a. m., Friday, April 20, 2018, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p. m. on Thursday, April 19, and one hour before the memorial service on the 20th. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Edd's memory to the United by Faith Christian Church of Wyman.
