He began working with his father at the family service station in 1947 and later became Proprietor himself. Not only did the business prosper, but it helped create a legacy for the man who ran it. Thousands of customers were touched by his spirit and lasting relationships were formed.
Mar celebrated life in every way possible. His love for family and friends brought him the greatest lasting joy. He lost the love of his life, Anita in 2009 and continued to greatly miss her until his death. Mar’s favorite spot in the entire world was the cottage at Horsehead Lake, 67 years of creating wonderful lasting memories. The Remus Lions Club counted him as their second oldest member. Mar was very civic minded and cared about the community. His generosity and kind-heartedness will always be remembered.
Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Remus Lions Club or to God’s Helping Hands of Mecosta. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at church.
