Elaine Marie Prowdley's Obituary
Edmore-Elaine Marie (Chevalier) Prowdley, age 82, of Farwell passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. She was born in L'Anse, MI, the daughter of Earl and Catherine (Spruce) Chevalier, on December 28, 1938. Elaine was raised in L'Anse until moving to Mason, MI as a teenager. She was employed by Hush Puppy in Big Rapids and as a sorter at the Onion Plantation in Sheridan. Elaine's greatest passion was being a wife, homemaker, and mother to her 8 children. She married Jerry Prowdley at their home in Sheridan on April 7, 1979. Elaine enjoyed cooking, baking, arts and crafts, house plants, gardening, working outdoors, going to the casino, and horse racing. She was a member of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community of the Lake Superior Band of Chippewa Indians in Baraga, MI. Elaine will be remembered for her deep love of family and cherished time spent with them.
Elaine is survived by her children, Terry (Vada) Moore of Shelby, Tammy (Shawn) Makohon of Stanton, Tina (Steve) Frankhouse of Jackson, Timmy Moore of Farwell, Tera (Tim) Shivley of Lansing, Tony (Jeanine) Moore of Huntsville, AL, Tobie (Ruby) Moore of Eaton Rapids; stepson, Jerry Lee Prowdley Jr.; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Catherine; son, Terrance Moore; and grandchildren, Amanda and Natasha Moore.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore with Pastor John Martin officiating. Interment will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt.
