Elizabeth Georgianne Bacon's Obituary
Morley, MI - Elizabeth Georgieanne (Wagner) Bacon , 88. Betty ,the first child of George Owen Wagner and Lucy Jane (Wood) Wagner and wife of Otto William Bacon, Sr. reunited with them in heaven on July 4, 2016. Betty was born in Harrison County Iowa on August 20, 1927 and most recently resided in Morley, Michigan. She is remembered by sons Otto Jr. (Sandy Spiewak) of Brimley, MI, Kevin Sr. (Tonia) of Bates City, MO and daughter Linda Gray (Randy) of Byron Center, MI and her 10 treasured grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Betty was a member of the Community of Christ Church (formerly RLDS Church) her entire life. She was a teacher and began her career in rural Iowa schools when she was only 17. Betty retired from Westwood Heights Schools in Flint, MI in 1984. She enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling , collecting tea pots and tea cups, spending time with her family, and being helpful to those who needed her. Besides her immediate family, Betty leaves three sisters and one brother, three brothers and one sister predeased her. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and in-laws. Special thanks to Byron Center Manor and Faith Hospice for their kind care. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Community of Christ Church in Big Rapids. Burial will follow in Rustford Cemetery in Morley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Church in Big Rapids. Betty's family will greet friends at the church prior to service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
