Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Jensen's Obituary
Edmore - Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Boyer) Jensen, age 85, of Edmore, MI, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant, MI. She was born on September 29, 1932 in Blanchard, the daughter of Curtis and Leota (Griffis) Boyer.
Betty was raised in the Blanchard area and graduated from Blanchard High School Class of 1951. Betty was both Vice President her Freshman year and President her Sophomore year. She was voted Carnival Queen candidate. She played softball and basketball for three years. She was involved with F.H.A. for three years. Betty was also part of the cheer team two years and chorus for one.
Betty married Dale Jensen on June 2, 1951 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Edmore.
Betty was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Edmore. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, fishing, and spending winters in Florida. She loved spending time with her family and church activities.
Betty will be missed by her children Larry (Sherry) Jensen, Greg (Jane) Jensen, and Brian (Kimberly) Jensen; daughters-in-law Esmeralda Jensen, and Tina Jensen; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister Evelyn Moore; several nieces, nephews, and church family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Leota Boyer; husband Dale Jensen; sons Bradley and Stuart Jensen; grandson Zackery Ruthruff, brother Curtis Boyer, sisters Minerva Delmater, Hazel Jensen, and Ilah Simmons; half-brothers Merle, Donald, and Gerald Boyer; half-sisters Reva, Pearl, Mary, and Lucille; and one special friend Jim Coville.
Funeral services for Betty will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Edmore, MI with visitation at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Marcia Schultz officiating. The family will also accept friends for visitation on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the graveside service in Vinewood Cemetery. Those wishing to make contributions in Betty's memory are asked to consider Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
