Elsie V. Blenman's Obituary
On August 15, 2022, in the comfort of her own home, Elsie Veronica Blenman peacefully entered eternal rest. Elsie, born in Detroit, Michigan on October 19, 1951, to Albert and Veronica (Malek) Pasnetkus. She was raised in Detroit with her siblings Jerry, Allen, Philip and Debbie.
Elsie graduated from Cody High School, where she met her first love, John Beckus. Together, they welcomed a baby girl into their lives, Julie. Eventually separating, but remaining amicable, the two moved on and remarried the loves of their lives. Elsie married William James Blenman, bearing two more sons, Theodore and James to join their sister and William’s oldest son, William Jr., in their farmhouse that they worked on and remodeled.
Elsie worked at Parker Brass for 20 years, after retirement, you could find her working in the garden, the lawn, doing arts and crafts, renovating home décor, traveling, sewing, and reading any book by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. She enjoyed impromptu trips to the casino, with various loved ones and causing mischief in her own way with her lifelong friends, Carole Lukas and Sandy Singleton-Cole.
Elsie was a very tough, independent women working hard to provide for her family. While raising her children and tending to her husband’s occasional medical needs in their home for over 23 years. She carried these burdens, but her kindness and the light of her eyes always seemed to show through, no matter what was going on in her life. Elsie was always there for her children and her grandchildren and was the best support that anyone could ask for.
In 2006, her husband William passed away, and eventually started dated James (Jim) Purdy, where they sold the farmhouse and moved to Newaygo, MI., when Jim was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
After his passing, Elsie began to reconnect with friends and took a weeklong vacation to Vegas with her daughter, Julie and her husband RD, and John. Her biggest joy in life were her grandchildren, Hayden, Teagan, Nolan, Chloe, Aurelia, and Ryan.
Elsie was one of the kindest and most loving people you could ever meet. She will be greatly missed and remembered by all. Elsie is survived by her brothers, Jerry Drouillard and Phillip Pasnetkus; daughter Julie (RD) Denslow; sons Teddy (Nikki) Blenman and James (Angelica) Blenman; Grandchildren Hayden (Courtney) Denslow, Teagan (Jake) Tarbell, Nolan Denslow, Chloe Blenman, Aurelia Blenman, and Ryan Blenman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Albert and Veronica; brother Allen
Drouillard, and sister Debbie Drouillard.
Services will be held at the Janowicz Family Funeral Home on August 30th 11 am with visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10am.
