Erma Marie Breen's Obituary
Edmore- Erma Marie (Root) Breen, age 98, of Cedar Lake passed away at her daughter's home Wednesday, December 30, 2020. She was born at home in Coopersville, Michigan on January 24, 1922 the daughter of Reuel and Nina (Landon) Root. She was raised in the Coopersville area where she attended McDermott Country School. Erma married Benjamin Breen August 12, 1942 in their home in Coopersville. They enjoyed farming which was what they did their whole life. Erma enjoyed sewing, making quilts, gardening and was a member of the Cedar Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church. Erma loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was considered a grandma to many.
Erma is survived by 4 daughters, Wavajean (Marvin) Watkins of Mill Spring NC, Sylvia Bovee of Bay City, Cynthia (Dean) Voss of Cedar Lake, Miriam (Ken) Henson of Cedar Lake; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Breen; one daughter, Emily Bendler; parents, Revel and Nina Root; one sister, Effie Root; and her grandparents.
Because of Erma's love for Christian education the Memorial contributions will go to the Worthy Student Fund for Great Lakes Adventist Academy, P.O. Box 68, Cedar Lake, Mi 48812
A funeral service for Erma will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Cedar Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cedar Lake Michigan with Jeff Marshall officiating. The family will greet friends from 10am until time of the service.
