Eva Mae Bilello's Obituary
Lakeview - Eva Mae Bilello, age 99, of Lakeview passed away at her daughter-in-law's home in Greenville on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. She was born in McBride on May 12, 1923, the daughter of Alva and Margaret (Lancaster) Sherwood. Eva was raised in a large family in McBride where she attended school, graduating in 1941. She was affectionately known as "Jackie" by her parents, siblings, and cousins, while growing up. During WWII she left the family farm and was employed by Ac Spark Plug in Flint making and testing machine guns. It was during that time she met the love of her life, Marc Thomas Bilello. They were married on July 16, 1943, in Flint. After the war they settled in Lakeview, and she was employed by Federal Mogul in Greenville and later by Lakeview Community Schools until her retirement. Eva enjoyed bowling, crafting, traveling to Florida, going to the casino, reading, gardening, and canning her harvest. She was an avid baseball fan, a great cook, and baker, especially when it came to homemade bread and her special apple pie. Eva was a kind and generous woman with a big smile who loved her family deeply.Eva is survived by 2 sons, Michael Bilello of Grand Rapids, and Thomas "Tom" (Mayla) Bilello of Grand Marais, MI; daughter-in-law, Kris Bilello of Greenville; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Marc; parents, Alva and Margaret; son, Anthony Bilello; daughter-in-law, Roxie Bilello; and 13 siblings.A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 28, 2022, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lakeview with Father James VanderLaan officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.Interment will take place in the spring at Day Township Cemetery.Those wishing to donate in Eva's memory are asked to consider St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church or the Montcalm County Animal Shelter.
