Evelyn Roxanne Littke's Obituary
Big Rapids, Evelyn was born on August 1, 1917, to the late John and Merl (Sweet) Benoit. She was married to Joseph Littke, who proceeded her in death in 1988, living most of their life at their home on Wolcott Street in St. Jospeh. Known as "Babe" to her friends and neighbors, Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph She loved the outdoors, spending many years with her family at their cabin in Bitely, and the past several years camping with her son and daughter-in-law in their travel trailer in Baldwin.Evelyn R. Littke, 93, of Big Rapids, formerly St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, February 06, 2011 at Metron of Big Rapids. She is survived by her loving son Joel Littke and his wife Linda Sims Littke of Big Rapids,her niece Debbie Milhauser, nephew Dale Milhauser and sister-in-law Majorie Milhauser, all ofSt. Joseph. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, William Marutz, brothers John and George Benoit, and her nephew Mark Milhauser. The family wishes to extend a heartland thank you to all of the staff at Metron of Big Rapids for their kind, compassionate care the past several years. She loved her "second family" very much. A private service will be held this spring in St. Joseph, with interment at North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Shores. Those desiring an expression of sympathy may consider Trinity Lutheran Church of St. Joseph or St. Peters Lutheran Church of Big Rapids.
