Evelyn Rose Moore's Obituary
Evelyn Rose Moore of Blanchard departed this world on the 29th of May, 2023 just past her 89th
birthday. Born to Curtis and Leota (Griffis) Boyer on the 5th of February, 1934, in Lakeview, Michigan.
Evelyn was raised in a bustling Blanchard family.
At the vibrant age of 17, Evelyn married Alvin Moore in July of 1951. Together they grew their family,
eventually having 5 children and Evelyn took her job as a farm wife as her life’s mission. She raised the
children with everyday joy and duty, the farm oozing a sense of home to everyone where no one went
away hungry from Evelyn’s table.
As the children grew, she renewed her love of reading, camping with the family, fishing and playing
cards. Following the loss of Alvin in 2012, Evelyn found solace in their children and grandchildren, filling
her days with a focus on others.
Left to mourn Evelyn are her children: Gary Moore, David (Debbie) Moore, Lorrie (Randy) Spayd, Lynn
(Rick Andersen) Fredricks, and Kathy (Tad Lawens) Munger; Grandchildren Jodi Spayd (Terry Winter)
Meagan Moore, Mike (Cassie) Moore, Marc Moore, Brad (Amanda) Simon, Andy (Josie) Fredericks,
Andrew (Alex) Andersen, Melissa (Jack) Thomas, Grahm (Brittany) Munger, Erica Munger (Lloyd Jones),
and Luke Lawens; 16 Great-Grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are Evelyn’s husband, Alvin; Brother, Curtis Boyer; Sisters: Minerva Delamater,
Ilah Simmons, Betty Jensen, and Hazel Jensen; Half-sisters: Reva, Pearl, Mary, and Lucille.
A Funeral service will take place on June 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Janowicz Family Funeral Home with
Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Those desiring may direct
memorial contributions to McLaren Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
