Foster C. Wanink's Obituary
Foster C. Wanink, age 100, of Lakeview, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Lakeview Terrace with family at his side. Foster was born on January 30, 1917 in Lakeview, the son of William and Cora (Beagle) Wanink. He was raised in Lakeview and attended Pleasant Hill and then graduated from Lakeview High School Class of 1936. Foster married his lifelong sweetheart Frances Behrenwald on September 17, 1939 in Lakeview. Foster was self-employed as a Farmer for over 65 years. Foster was a member of the Moose Lodge in Florida and his main "Hobby" was working hard. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He made many beautiful wood projects including children's toys, outdoor patio furniture, and bookcases.
Foster will be deeply missed by his two sons and their wives Dale (Ruth) Wanink of Belding, and Doyle (Valerie) Wanink of Sparta; two grandchildren Eric (Lisa) Wanink, and Jacqueline Wanink; two great-grandchildren Matthew and Alison Wanink; many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Foster was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances Wanink; one son Orland Wanink in 1968; his parents William and Cora Wanink; three siblings Lyle Wanink, Treva Black, and Laura Hunt.
Funeral services for Foster will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan. The family will be accepting friends for Visitation on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. A luncheon will be provided for all in the funeral home banquet room following graveside services at Riverside Cemetery in Langston. Those wishing to make a contribution in Foster's memory are asked to consider the Kelsey Hospital Guild.
