Fred J Nostrant's Obituary
Fred J. Nostrant, age 62, of Remus, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife, Meredith, by his side. He was born on January 16, 1964, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Larry Nostrant Sr. and Shirley Nostrant.
Fred dedicated many years of his life working as an assembler at Ventra Manufacturing, where he built lasting friendships and took pride in his work. It was also through his work that he met the love of his life, Meredith, whom he married on September 29, 2018.
Fred was known by many as a true “social butterfly.” He never met a stranger and had a way of connecting with everyone he encountered. He loved keeping up with the weather and was well known for sharing daily updates and his evening meals on Facebook. Whether he was posting about what he was cooking or engaging in lively conversations, Fred enjoyed staying connected.
He had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life—spending time in his garage, listening to classic country music, enjoying a good drink, and keeping everything just the way he liked it. Fred was a hardworking man who thrived on staying busy and took pride in keeping a clean and orderly space. He was also an avid fan of General Hospital and rarely missed an episode.
Fred enjoyed spending time with friends, often making stops at local favorites such as the Remus Tavern, McKenna’s, and attending Remus Heritage Days—especially the Sunday “fun day” gatherings with the community. He cherished time spent with his close friends and held a special bond with his parents throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Meredith Nostrant; his children, Jeremiah and Amanda Nostrant, Lynn Erway, brother Richard Nostrant, and sister Vicky Nostrant; his grandchildren, Morgan, Kyle, and Zoey; along with many dear friends, extended family members, and acquaintances.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, at the Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, with Pastor Hawver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Meredith Nostrant to assist with expenses.
Fred’s presence, personality, and the joy he brought to everyday life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Janowicz Family Funeral Home, Remus, Michigan.
